We have a CA-RAZY schedule of travel this summer including places like New Hampshire, Vermont, Nantucket, Turks & Caicos, Mexico, and Florida. There’s an expression about biting off more than you can chew, isn’t there? But I promised myself I would not let having another baby slow my life down and I’m sticking to it. I’m excited to get back on the road (and in the air!) with the kids as a new family of 5. I’m even in the process of securing the baby’s passport as we speak. (Read about how much fun THAT is.)
There’s a couple of things that make traveling with kids easier at your destination including having the right gear (more on that later), and being prepared as possible. But sometimes things happen that you have no control over, no matter how much you prepare. Like that time Miss P. got sick on a car ride (don’t miss that epic story) or that time Hubby forgot his contact prescription and couldn’t drive home (likely story.) I’m all about making life easier for us while we are away. There is only one store I can rely on for everything we need: CVS
They are my go-to before, during and even after every family vacation. They have me covered from passport photos, to prescriptions to travel necessities to post-trip photos. I always use the Pharmacy at home but now, I can use the MobileApp to easily locate a CVS pharmacy when we travel. We can even transfer prescriptions to a location near us (no more excuses, Hubs.) One of the things I get a little paranoid about when traveling with the kids is having them get sick while we are away from home. I never want to feel helpless when it comes to their health and it’s never fun having a sick kid on vacation. There’s been plenty of times when I would ask a CVS Pharmacy about OTC medicines and we’ve even used the CVS MinuteClinic in Florida and New Hampshire as a convenient (and much less expensive) alternative to an ER visit. After having kids, don’t you wish every store had a drive-thru option? (Like the liquor store for example.) I hate getting the kids in and out of carseats for a quick store trip. Thankfully our local CVS pharmacy has a convenient drive-thru window; the woman behind the window even knows us by name which I’m not sure is good or bad now that I think of it…but I love being able to get that errand done quicker than Kidz Bop can finish singing “Call Me Maybe” in the car.
I think we are all probably guilty of keeping photos on our computers and phones after family vacations. I try to make a point out of hard copy printing some after memorable trips and putting them in a actual album, not just a virtual one. CVS Photo is super quick and easy and can print them while I’m shopping for super important things like Paw Patrol band-aids and candy treats for our manners jar. From snacks to all natural remedies to trip must-have’s CVS keeps us happy, healthy and travel-ready!
