We are wrapping up Baby Safety Month with Safety 1st and our last installment of Misadventure Monday!
Want to know one of the WORST sounds in the world? Your toddler falling down a set of stairs. I know this from experience, unfortunately. When Decker was 1.5 he mastered the stairs and was so proud of himself. We had just moved into a new house and I no sooner thought to myself “time to get a gate” when I watched him plummet from the top of them. My body could not react quickly enough and he landed in a heap at the end of them. My heart was in my throat as I rushed him sobbing to the doctor’s office down the street. I didn’t see any immediate damage but I couldn’t stop thinking about internal bleeding. He ended up being fine “little kids bodies are much more pliable than ours” he told me after an intense check-up and long observation period. We installed the Safety 1st “Ready To Install” gate that night and I’m still mad at myself for waiting even 1 day past the day I should have. What do you use your gates for? Do you have a baby that’s soon to be walking? Protect those little faces! And heads! And arms! And legs! And! And! Head on over to my Facebook page and write a comment under this post for a chance to win a Safety 1st Ready To Install Gate – 3 winners will be chosen by the end of the week!
