I work with a variety of different brands and companies all over the country and I feel lucky to say I’ve really enjoyed everyone I’ve met and am working with. (Well, except for the company that makes my favorite swaddle blankets. I’m not so hot on them. They got mad at me when I offered to use a dummy instead of a real baby to demonstrate the swaddle in a video. Like offended. That I would call someone a dummy. Okay, I digress.) But I have to say one of my favorite teams to work with are the folks at Comcast New England. The team is incredibly knowledgable and truly live and breathe their brand. Companies like Comcast that offer a service almost everyone is passionate about can often catch a lot of flack. These guys handle that flack with a steady stream of professionalism and grace. They know how to have a good time, their events are always creative and fun, and they even have a ping pong table in their hallway.
We were chatting recently about all of the summer travel I have coming up and how we handle long trips with the kids. We both agreed getting a larger conversation going with customers could be interesting and engaging. So I drove into South Boston last week to host a Twitter Chat and got to taste the best Oreo there ever was from Flour Bakery (OMG.) We all had a blast except Riggs who apparently thought it was a snoozefest until the end when he stole hearts and took names:
In the chat I learned about new features like the Xfinity X1 Kids Zone letting kids search safely for their own shows (and they can even use the voice remote so you don’t have to run downstairs to help.) I recently wrote about Xfinity xFi where you can pause all Wi-Fi in the house for dinner and the Twitter Chatters (I made that name up) loved that feature. I even learned something perfect for travel – we can take our shows to go. We just download the kiddos’ favorite TV & movies from our DVR onto our devices and with the Xfinity Stream app, we can watch without the Internet! That will certainly come in handy on our budget airline trip this August. Comcast ended up giving away some great prizes including Fandango gift cards, a couple of SCOUT summer bags (my favorite) and even an iPad to a lucky winner who we found out later was a new mom to 3 kids. That will come in handy 😉 Thanks to the Comcast New England team for hosting a fun event, per usual!
All I need is a ping pong paddle in my mouth and we’d call this the ultimate multi-tasking experience.
(I was typing under that nursing cover.)
