When I was a Freshman in High School I went to a sleep-away soccer camp with a girl named Kelly. Kelly always played the “ditzy blonde” but I knew she was smart as hell. She read under her covers while the rest of us snuck over to prank the boys dorm. While the rest of us were struggling to conjugate basic verbs in Spanish class, Kelly was learning Mandarin. You see back then, Mandarin was one of those languages no one even thought to educate themselves on. She took a risk and learned a skill that helped became a piece of a solid resume that launched her into a successful political career.
Do you want to know what this skill will be for our children in the next 5-10 years? Coding. Helping kids understand coding at a young age will propel their future. Not only that, coding increases skills like communication, creativity, math, writing, and confidence (Reference: http://blog.learningresources.com/5reasonskidscoding/).
We were so excited when Paigely’s 3rd Grade class offered coding as an after-school activity. So much of our children’s life is based on technology. Isn’t it imperative then to give them the skills to understand the language behind the technology? Here’s what you need to know about coding: Your kids need to learn how to code. And here’s who can help…
Codeverse is coming to the Burlington Mall this summer with a 3,000 sq. foot facility. A space that will boast a wide range of high-tech features with cutting-edge gadgets, including a 20ft TV wall and professional-grade lights and speakers (which can be controlled and programmed by kids using real code!).
Codeverse’s classes and camps are led by Guides. Guides are a collective of K-12 certified teachers, improv comedians, seasoned designers, engineers and game developers and everything is highly specialized to your child’s needs. Guide’s will be equipped with iPads that display real stats on how every student is progressing through the curriculum. Tracking every interactive, milestone, and mistake gives the Guides an unprecedented amount of rich data that is then used to craft a personalized approach to learning to code.
Can coding get much cooler than that? Actually, it can. Codeverse 2020 Summer Camps offer video game creation and robotics, 3D printing and circuitry, and hands-on STEM activities that are fun and engaging, complete with field trips to the Apple Store. Go ahead and up-level your child’s summer camp!
Codeverse is the world’s first fully interactive coding studio and technology platform for children ages 6 to 13, offering weeklong camps, weekly classes, and weekend parties…and we are so lucky to have them in our backyard. Welcome, Codeverse!
