We’re taking our annual trip down to Florida this week and instead of running around like a chicken with my head cut off I started packing the day after Thanksgiving. No exaggeration. Now I’m feeling (slightly) more calm about getting three human bodies out of the door with everything we need. I started a Facebook discussion on which suitcases were best for kids since they are both at an age where they can drag their own (we’ve arrived!) I was intrigued by the ones they could sit on but after reading your opinions on the matter I opted out of buying the Trunki:
This one also interested me: RIDE-ON CARRY-ON – BLACK (FAMILY TRAVEL JUST GOT EASIER AND KIDS LOVE IT!) but alas I didn’t order it in time. We’ll end up going with your basic hard shell SuperHero and Frozen suitcases from Target. Also, this.
Here are my top 5 “Must-Have’s” when flying with kids
5. A good set of headphones
(..along with associated electronics to keep them from kicking the seat and/or climbing under people’s feet and/or well, here.)
Our go-to brand of headphones for kids is LilGadgets, they are great.

4. The Clean Teeth Lollipop
Yup there’s such a thing:
2. Cheerios and Dental Floss.
Have them string a necklace. Weird, right? But trust me, it will take up a lot of time and hey it even doubles as a snack.
1. Hand Sanitizer
And I don’t just use it for their hands. I wipe down the trays and the armrests and the headrests, too. I wish I could bathe them in it after we get off the plane. Call me neurotic but no one wants a sick kid on vacation, right?
