Let’s try this one on for size: “Keeping Up With Kristin” Nope, not the same. (#KUWTK fans, how GOOD does this season look!?) Here’s a rundown of what I’ve been up to and what I’m loving..starting with this name plate the MIM publicist sent for my birthday:
Summer is around the corner (Right? Right???) and I found an adorable new UV 50+swimwear line called Elly La Fripouille. The superhero rash guard (complete with Cape) they sent is going to be perfect for our surprise trip in 2 weeks. (Make sure to follow us on Instagram to find out where we are headed.) This model isn’t my son and despite the Eiffel tower we aren’t headed to France but cute pic, right?) Standard shipping to the US is just $6.95 and free for orders over $50.
Have you heard of Props In A Box? They sent us a kit just in time for Easter and the kids are having a blast with it. Whimsical props, costumes, and backdrops help encourage them to create stories and indulge in make believe. Take it to the next level with their downloadable Movie Maker app. I believe the scenario below is called “Crocodile And Pirate Gang Up On Pajama Guy.” A great (and unique!) gift for siblings.
We had a blast touring the Ocean State with Visit Rhode Island. Thanks to Twelve Little for outfitting me with this unisex diaper backpack. It saved my shoulders and kept my hands free to play with the kids.
I walked and “worked” the Drool Expo with both kids in tow. Thanks to Magic Beans for having us. I met a lot of great new people while discovering up and coming brands in the baby industry. After the event Paigely announced she wanted to be a writer when she’s older and talk to people as a living. Rock on, Girl Boss.
I attended the Kindergarten Prep talk put on by The Fessenden School and really enjoyed it. Do you remember the question I got to submit beforehand? Here was the answer: You are allowed to be emotional about this, you’ve earned it. Make sure to be honest with your child and let them know that you are excited for them and happy for this next chapter but that you are also going to miss them. Remember, they will feed off whatever kind of energy you are putting out.
Oh hey there, X1 platform…
Last Thursday I had the pleasure of learning all about the new Comcast X1 upgrade at #XfinityNight in a beautiful new Seaport building called Watermark. Here were the most important things I learned and that could potentially change your life…
1. There is no additional cost to upgrade to the new X1 remote as long as you are a Comcast customer. And, there’s no additional cost each month to have X1 itself compared to Comcast’s traditional service.
2. The Guide is significantly more advanced – it looks much better, plus lets you “Favorite” the top shows (ahem Kardashians…) and Hubby can ask it if the Red Soxs are winning without disturbing a new episode of Paw Patrol. Speaking of Paw Patrol…the Kid Zone portion of the new guide is sa-wheet.
3. X1 lets you stream from your smartphone to your TV and share with friends and family in real time. So for example when we are on vacation in another country (hint) we can show our parents what the kids are up to.
4. The voice control feature is really cool. You can tell it things like, “Record The Kardashians” “Show me Channing Tatum” and “More movies like Magic Mike, please.”
From Watermark I literally ran (got the blisters to prove it) to the Opera House and caught the Boston Ballet’s dress rehearsal of Swan Lake. This show is absolutely stunning and a must-see with kids if they have the ability to sit through something like this. Paigely would have loved it and in retrospect I wish I brought her. At least she got to see these gorgeous images my friend and photographer took from our coveted seats in the 5th row. (Related: I have absolutely no excuse complaining about blisters.)
The photoshoot was styled by Alisa Kapinos who I recently wrote about in Stroller Traffic…
And finally (breathe) I gave away 10 free tickets on our Facebook page to this Thursday’s Ultimate Mom’s Night Out event where I’ll be the keynote speaker. Please come by and
hand me a glass of wine say hello!
