Have you ever fallen in love with a brand? So much so that if the store you are in doesn’t carry it you’d go through the ridiculous hassle of strapping the kids back in the car to go to another until you find it? That brand for me is Seventh Generation. There is something about that green packaging that makes me feel like I’m choosing wisely for not only my family but the planet…
One of the first things I remember about having newborns is their smell. Nothing matches the intoxicating smell of brand new baby. It’s really more of an experience than a smell; bringing with it a wave of emotions while stirring up maternal instincts you didn’t even know were within you. I remember not liking the diapers the Maternity ward used because they covered up the smell of my babies. I always hated when people would come visit and hold the kids wearing strong perfume because it lingered on them too long afterwards. I’ve always had a ridiculous sense of smell along with a sensitivity to how things felt on my body. From 2nd grade to 6th grade I would only wear sweatpants (no seriously just ask my mortified older sister who refused to stand next to me at the bus stop.) Naturally I wanted only the softest, purest things on my babies, too.
When I first tried Seventh Generation Free & Clear diapers and wipes the first thing I noticed was that they didn’t make my baby smell like something else. But what made them different from The Brands That Shall Not Be Named? They are chlorine-free, unbleached, and the only diapers that worked (no surprises dripping down those adorable chubby legs!)
So when Seventh Generation reached out and asked me to be an offical brand ambassador for their products, my answer was “I already am.” I work with a lot of amazing brands but Seventh Generation was my White Whale.
It’s my absolute pleasure to help spread information about their products and their message to new parents. They have been there for me since the beginning; a true part of many Misadventures! Wherever we are, they are. And when I see the green packaging in the store 10 years from now I will smile and think to myself “…those were the days.”
Seventh Generation recently launched a new promotion in partnership with Whole Foods Market and Baby Buggy® that will help make every diaper change a “change for good.” For every pack of Seventh Generation Free & Clear diapers purchased at Whole Foods Market from May 1 – September 30, 2015, Seventh Generation will donate a pack of newborn or size one diapers to Baby Buggy, a national nonprofit that provides families with children in need across the country with essential gear, clothing, products and services. Baby Buggy will distribute the diapers free of charge to babies in need in local communities across the U.S.
Look for the “Buy/Give” sticker on Seventh Generation diapers in your local Whole Foods Market to do your part to make every diaper change a change for the greater good!
