“Mom, are you voting for Ben Harrison?” Hmmm I think. Is that local government? “Where did you see that, Decker?” I ask. “You know, that guy there” he says, pointing to a sign. “Oh! That says Biden Harris. Those are two last names turned into a logo using a special font” I reply in my best marketing nerd-alert voice. “Biden is a male, and Harris is a female.” “Oh, so are you voting for them?” he asks again. I kneel in front of him so he can see my face. “Well, today honey I’m voting Pro America. Because I believe in the betterment of society, even if that means taking a little skin of my back. I believe all lives matter and that all lives should be treated with decency and compassion with no bullying allowed. I believe that inclusion is paramount to keeping this country great. I believe in protecting the environment because without doing that, we have nothing. My life, and your life, and your children’s lives would be a moot point. I believe defending the First Amendment takes precedence over defending the Second Amendment. I believe that women should never, no matter what, be governed differently than the rest of the population – men.
Now, do I think I am choosing an excellent, perfect candidate? No. But I do believe my choice and my vote will make a better world for you and for future generations. That’s my duty as an American citizen…and I couldn’t be prouder to cast it.”
“Got it Mom, Ben Harrison it is.”
