Raise your hand if you like beer and animals! Ok seriously, who didn’t raise their hand? Everyone likes beer and animals! Especially craft beer and especially adorable zoo animals. You’ll find us at Stone Zoo’s Ales & Tails on Saturday, September 14th from 5-7:30PM sampling beers from some of the region’s best breweries (Clown Shoes anyone? Lord Hobo? Jack’s Abby?) and ogling some of the cutest monkeys, bears, otters, sloths, snow leopards and more that call the Zoo home. This is a 21+ event, so call a babysitter and come out to a truly unique and different date night! Tickets include beer and food samples as well as a chance to see all of the Zoo exhibits.
General admission tickets purchased in advance are $55 ($25 for a Designated Driver), and tickets will also be available at the door for $65. Tickets can be purchased here: https://bit.ly/2L2pxWG
The best part?? Proceeds from Ales & Tails will go back to support Zoo New England’s education programs and conservation initiatives, helping inspire others to protect and sustain the natural world. (You can learn more about those here: https://www.zoonewengland.org/protect/)
What’s your favorite beer from the participating breweries? You’ll be able to try plenty of samples from Cambridge Brewing Co, Lord Hobo, Down the Road Beer Co., Brooklyn Brewery, 21st Amendment, Bantam Cider, Clown Shoes, Narragansett, Jack’s Abby, Bone Up Brewing Company, True North Ale Company, UFO, Harpoon, Wormtown Brewery, Cisco Brewers, Smuttynose Brewing Go, Lagunitas, Southern Tier Brewing Co, Wachusett Brewing Company, Allagash Brewing Company, Sixpoint Brewery, and more!
What’s your favorite animal? While I’m partial to the flamingos, Stone Zoo offers a bunch of great exhibits to check out during the event!
Visit the Caribbean Coast to see the endangered bush dogs or stop by the Himalayan Highlands to see the snow leopards and markhor goats. The Yukon Creek exhibit is home to North American porcupines, arctic foxes, Canada lynx and reindeer. Before you leave, don’t miss Stone Zoo’s Treetops and Riverbeds exhibit, where you’ll hear the calls of the Zoo’s white-cheeked gibbon family and visit the colobus monkeys atop their perches. Be sure to see the Zoo’s pair of North American river otters who love to swim and play in their pool almost as much as they love to eat fish! And, of course, no visit is complete without a stop by the black bear exhibit to see Smoky and Bubba!
As an extra bonus, two tickets are being given away on my Instagram page this week 9/9/19-9/13/19. Be sure to check it out for a chance to win.
Hope to see you there. Happy Tails! (And Ales…)
