“I love going to a bank to do my banking!” said no Mom, ever. “Let’s go to the bank!” said every kid, ever (for the lollipops.) I’ve been doing my “banking” with the same bank since I was in COLLEGE. I’m 38 years old. (I don’t want to give out any names but it rhymes with DANK OF HYSTERICA.) Now mind you my “banking” consists of going into a local branch once a week with blushed cheeks begging for forgiveness about “misplacing” my debit card yet again (I think if I ever cleaned out my diaper bag 4 red cards would fall to the floor.) If you have ever tried taking your kids to the bank the lollipop only lasts 5 minutes. And it takes A LOT LONGER THAN 5 MINUTES at DANK OF HYSTERICA to get a card reissued (yes, even if it’s your 3rd time that month.) The other day I had the baby crawling under the desk playing with the phone cord while my daughter pounded away on the calculator that I’m pretty sure was not put there for that purpose while my other son tried to staple his shirt to his pants. It wasn’t an ideal scene for anyone. There has to be a better way I told myself, exiting the bank with two kids on a lollipop sugar high and one baby covered in used staples.
I’ve been recently chatting with the corporate office of a (perhaps) lesser known bank than “HYSTERICA” called Radius Bank. They are trying to get the message out to Mom’s about their convenient family-friendly banking features. “Yes, tell me more” I said with a professional voice, secretly dying to know what these magical features where and how quickly I could incorporate them into my life. Check it out – if you “lose” your debit card only to find it days later in your diaper bag (I’m looking at you, Kristin) Radius has an app. for that! RADIUS CARD is a debit card monitoring application for Android and iOS devices. It gives you the ability to turn your card off should it become lost or stolen and back on again should you simply have misplaced it…or in my case more than once – let your kids play “store” with it, never to see it again. The app. can also set location-based spending restrictions which I SO NEED at Sephora, and can create spending caps or activity limits to help you stick to your budget.
Alright, there are so many good things to share about Radius, I have to save some for later – like how easy making the switch is. And being able to use any ATM you want. And their own little “Venmo” feature. And. GAH! I’ve said too much. But wait, hold my beer. I thought of a new slogan for them: “Radius Bank. So quick you won’t even need the lollipop.”
Kristin is an Ambassador for Radius Bank. This post is in partnership.
(Been there. Done that. Even got the T. shirt!)
