I mean she only turns (1,2,3, FOUR, 5,6,7,8,9,10, 11, 12, you get the idea) once, right? I have BPPD = Birthday Party Planning Disease. AND Miss P’s 4th birthday party JUST SO HAPPENED to fall on my actual birthday so it was technically a double-party. We started planning in February together. It was a long Winter, okay? We had a ton of fun and it was a great bonding experience even though I’m probably forcing her into early onset of BPPD. The only problem with planning that far in advance was forgetting what we ordered and ending up with two of the same thing and ha! that was never a problem. Miss P. asked to have a rainbow theme and it turns out there’s a lot you can do with a rainbow theme. We had to clear out a shelf in the pantry for all of the paraphernalia that kept coming in.
On top of all of the rainbow goodies we had to have ponies. CUE THE PONIES! And of course a bouncy castle. CUE THE MOON BOUNCE COMBO! And what would a birthday party be without face painting? It would be just fine. The answer to that question is it would be just fine, but…CUE THE FACE PAINTING! I figured the cotton candy machine might put Hubby over the top but it was technically a double-party so…CUE THE SPUN SUGAR! I know. I need therapy. But man did I love watching her little face light up so many times.
To top this all off (no seriously there’s more) I was contacted by a company called UrLife Media to make a movie trailer out of a special event. I kid you not on this timing. The guys who cut the biggest blockbuster ads in Hollywood were going to cut a movie trailer out of our little Miss P’s 4th birthday party and it wasn’t even part of my BPPD! It was great working with urLife from start to finish. It was super easy to upload the iPhone images and videos we took and fill out a quick 3-question survey. A week or so later and we were given our own custom movie trailer. Check it out!
What a wonderful way to preserve memories. And what a perfect wedding or new baby gift, too.

Here is a list of all the stellar vendors I worked with, below –
Paul was easy to work with, professional, and clean (aka they didn’t leave poop on our lawn, thank you!) We booked Cocoa and Moonpie, two sweet ponies perfect for little ones.
We used Courtney Johnson, owner of Creative Celebrations. She is a mother herself and knows how to work with kids. She even made her own face paint and helped out above and beyond her artistry.
The lovely woman behind the counter was a pleasure to order from. The designer took Miss P’s idea and brought it to life quite beautifully.
It’s our 3rd year in a row working with this company. They supplied the bouncy castle and the cotton candy machine rental. From set-up to clean-up these guys are top notch.
psst…check out the Grandparent paparazzi!
