DECKING THE HALLS (LITERALLY!) WITH XFINITY

I work with a lot of big companies all across the U.S.  It works like this – they are selling a product or service and want to bring the knowledge of that product/service to a larger, or more specific population.  Enter me because, well – you.  You read this blog (I hope!) because you like it and it helps you learn about new and fun things for families, kids, and even (gasp) YOU.  I am asked/sent roughly 10 pitches a day.  I filter filter filter and find the products and services that I think you will really love and then I sign on.  This means meetings and phone calls and events and often 100’s of emails to make sure I’m understanding what’s on the table and to get you the right information.  One of my all time favorite teams to do these things with is Comcast New England.  This is a group of people that are passionate about what they do, passionate about their product, and know how to have fun to boot. (Doreen! Where is your reindeer hat!?)
When they asked me to host an #XfinityMoms event to learn how this service could help us ring in the holidays I said “yes” before they even promised food.  A dozen of my local blogger friends plus their followers all met at the Comcast store in Burlington to mingle, eat (well), and learn about the new X1, Xfi Pods, Xfinity Mobile, Xfinity Home, Xfinity Apps, and my personal favorite – The Santa Tracker.

Xfi is an easy-to-use online digital dashboard that lets customers see what devices are on in their home and MOST IMPORTANTLY PAUSE WI-FI CONNECTIONS DURING DINNERTIME! Brilliant.  I went home with an Xfi Pod and by the look of excitement on my husband’s face you would have thought I was bringing home a winning lottery ticket.  Or buffalo chicken wings.  xFi pods are small, hexagon-shaped devices that plug into outlets and deliver reliably fast speeds and the best WiFi coverage to ALL areas of the household.  Have a house that’s huge, shaped strangely, or just old? You must get one of these.

If you haven’t upgraded your remote to a voice remote are you even a Comcast customer? You can now say “Go back 20 seconds” or “Go forward 10 minutes” to get hat you want to see, right away.  iHeartRadio and YouTube are their two latest additions to the X1 platform which has totally upgraded our Family Friday Dance Parties!

Have you heard of Xfinity Mobile yet!? It’s the nation’s first wireless service combining America’s largest 4G network with 18 million Xfinity WifI hotspots to deliver a great wireless experience for less money on all of the popular devices. AND you can get Xfinity Mobile as long as you have Xfinity Internet for as low as $12/m or $45/m unlimited.

Now here’s my favorite part: The Yule Log and The Santa Tracker.  I hosted a Holiday Sip and Shop the other week and the yule log going on our TV was a big hit (and no one left smelling like campfire.) The Santa Tracker app is delivered to X1 boxes via the internet.  It’s interactive features include on-screen games, read- and sing-alongs, holiday movie trailers, radio, daily challenges, a countdown until Santa’s departure and more. Just use your XFINITY remote to navigate the “Star” to different areas on the screen.

Thanks to Comcast and Xfinity we are totally ready for Christmas and 2018.  Extra Bonus Secret: Xfinity now plays iHeart Radio.  I can’t wait to see what they come up with next!
