I was scrolling on Instagram at 5am this morning and saw a picture of a 9 month old baby in a highchair with avocado all of his face and the caption: “Heathly Baby = Happy Baby! Remember to feed them lots of veggies.” I immediately thought to myself: Wait until he turns 3. (Or 1 and 1/2 for that matter.) And who knows maybe he’ll become a dutiful toddler who loves being spoon-fed brussel sprouts by the stalk but that’s just not my world. I have picky eaters which makes me want to scream: BUT IT’S FOOD! FOOD IS AMAZING! WHY DON’T YOU LOVE FOOD?! I also have head-strong kids; they push boundaries and question things (not sure why?) While I love these traits that I most definitely inadvertently gave to them, they can make meal-time a tedious process. So I discuss healthy choices, what it means to have balance, and try to make meal-time fun and not a battle. Ok, picture me putting the plate down, walking away with my eyes squeezed tight, and praying to the Lord Jesus.
I’m always on the hunt for healthy options in the grocery aisle, even when picking out “treats.” Enter Stonyfield’s new frozen yogurt pearls made with WikiPearl technology. Think scoops of decadent, organic, non-fat frozen yogurt wrapped in delicate natural edible skins. (They were inspired by how nature packages fruit i.e.: grapes) Mess-free, melt-free, and portion controlled in little bags. No spoon, no cup, no limits.
Have you found foods that are healthy, taste great, work as part of a well-balanced meal and are maybe even fun to eat? Share them in the comment section below and help another Muther out!
Psst: Hey MIM’er’s, enjoy a $2 off coupon from Stonyfield Organic –
