Shopping with little kids is so easy! (said no one, ever.) ‘Tis the season and so far every shopping trip I’ve taken with the kids this month has involved an ice pack, a band-aid, a temper-tantrum, and a poop; in the middle of an aisle. I know you feel my pain. The thing is, I love to shop. In college at Boston University my friends and I would go to the Copley Plaza Mall once a week. We weren’t even buying anything we just loved the scene, especially at Christmas time. We would go and get our make up done at the MAC counter, have lunch at the food court, check out the cute boys in the Abercrombie store while trying not to choke on the pungent perfume. You know the drill. We were 18 year old girl-bosses and we knew it. Things are different now but the thrill of the mall hasn’t left me. After my third unsuccessful shopping trip with the kids (“Ma’am it looks like your son might be pinned under the shopping cart.”) I decided to venture out on my own and try to remember what it felt like to shop alone. I ended up finding bliss at the Lands’ End Pop-Up store in the Copley Mall.
Although this is not a store I’d typically go into, I couldn’t resist the homey feel of the entrance, it literally drew me in. And I made myself comfortable once inside; what with the cozy robes, fireplace, and Christmas Tree how could I not? (Note, lady in background not amused.)
Do you know what a snood is? I didn’t. But I learned, got obsessed with it, hung out with it, then made it my own –
The merchandise is truly a hand-picked selection of the best the brand has to offer, laid out over 3,000 sq. feet of space. Women’s, men’s, kids, home, even dogs. You can get anything you want monogrammed on-site and it only takes a few minutes. (Plus, it’s cool to watch)
This pop-up shop is a perfect destination for shopping and gifting and in retrospect I think my kids would have loved it too. But hey, woulda-shoulda-coulda, see you at the MAC make-up counter 😉
Oh wait! MOST importantly – Lands’ End is doing a Coats For Kids coat drive through December 20th at the store. Simply donate any gently used men’s women’s or kids’ warm winter coats in the box. As a thank-you for donating a coat customers will receive 25% off their total purchase at the pop-up store.
It’s for the kids.
