It’s April and we’re about to celebrate 3 birthdays in this house. (Well, 2 really because, #MomLife.) We’ll be starting April vacation by heading up to review the Lake House in the Berkshires finally (a Bomb-Hurricane delayed our last attempt.) The cottages look so quaint and I can’t wait to spend some time on the Lake with the kids!
We’ll be finishing up the vacation with a fun trip to Red Jacket Resorts in the Cape. When they found out we’d be there on Paigely’s 7th birthday they upgraded our room to a 3 bedroom, 2 bath ocean view Townhome! The April Vacation activities look like so much fun: A gaming bus, a Peek-A-Zoo, poolside bingo, toasted marshmallows, movie night, and a family fun circus. If you don’t have plans yet check this little gem out.
I’ve signed with some great companies this month. I love learning about new products and services that can help us (because let’s face it – we need help!) This month I’ll be working with Walgreens/P&G for their #HealthyHome initiative, Radius Bank, Hydralyte (officially addicted) SilverPost (wait for it Mom!), Showcase Cinephile (free cone day coming up! check out my Instagram page for upcoming details), Force of Nature, Revolution Foods (passionate about this for schools!) Comcast New England on an Autism Awareness event and The First Years, so stay tuned for ALL THAT.
I have no idea WHY because it’s almost OVER but the kids schools have been on my mind lately. I met with my daughter’s principal to chat about safety and helped put a lot of my peers at ease (I hope.) The #1 thing I learned is that they don’t like to share too much information because that in itself is a potential threat. Makes sense. Riggs will be 1 soon and he’ll start daycare 2 days a week so Mama can actually get some work done (see above!) and my daughter is going into 2nd grade. Gulp. If you follow me on Instagram you’ll see that I CANNOT DO FIRST GRADE MATH. Thank goodness it’s my 7 year old taking those quizzes and not me.
I was happy to be made privy to a company called Axiom Learning, recently, developed by 2 Harvard alums and parents themselves. Axiom provides SSAT, ISEE, SAT and ACT test prep, study skills, academic support, Wordsmith express, and programs for struggling learners. Their LEAP 3.0 program helps kids get out of the “one size fits all” approach to education and instead supports a child’s unique gifts and challenges. In partnership with Axiom I’m giving away 10 FREE HOURS of any type of Axiom support (valued up to $1950!) on my Facebook page. Simply tag Axiom under this post and let us know who you’d use it for or tag a friend who could benefit from it. (Psst: If you mention my blog you will also receive 15% off your service!)
I’m going to enjoy these last couple weeks of school and set my eyes on the prize: summah! In the meantime though – I think April is going to be a good month – and that’s coming from a girl whose March consisted of attending an epic Lindt Chocolate event (like seriously I can die and go to heaven now) and reviewing the most amazing performance of Romeo and Juliet by the Boston Ballet (tickets on sale through April 8th!) My baby is turning 1. I can’t stop staring at the Canvas Factory print we had done of him when he was so little. It’s one of my favorite things in this house.
Canvas Factory is giving away $100 to a lucky MIM reader to go towards capturing your own little misadventures. Just simple write “Cheese!” or “Yawn!” under this FB status depending on your mood today (you can apply to both giveaways.)
