HEY, JUNE

0 Permalink

Heyyyyy, June.  School’s almost out.  Summer is (kinda) here (why is my heat on in June?)  My back is on the mend, and I’m ready to have this jelly disappear.  My midwife suggested a program called MuTu (Mummy Tummy – out of England) to get my core back (I don’t need to see my abs again, I know I never will, I just want a little less “panis.”  Worst word ever. Have you heard of it? If not, you’re welcome.) Sometimes I want to punch the woman in the face but it’s actually working.

Speaking of “working out” I swear one armpit won’t stop stinking (yup, just one) and I’m convinced it’s from nursing.  Nursing is a work out in itself! Full disclosure I only use natural deodorant so that’s probably not helping my cause. It’s my favorite though and I love, love the smell (when it works!)  Thank goodness my new favorite shirts from Boody are not only ridiculously soft but stretchy, breathable, and anti-bacterial with excellent moisture absorbency.  They even make a baby line, check out Boody Baby.  Here’s Riggs showing off his svelte June body in their Organic Bamboo Tank:

The kids had fun opening a great haul from both TinyLove & Safety 1st. (Although the boxes are 50% of the fun.)  The latter partnered with Milestone Cards with this adorable gift set for newborns.  Paigely & Decker comb Riggs’s hair every night it’s hysterical.  Mostly because he has none. It just became available at select Target & Babies R Us stores so consider yourself in the know on a great shower or new baby gift. Shop Here.
Have you heard of the TinyLove brand? I like it because they feature modern looking baby toys and activity centers.  I’m not into the cutesy-looking stuff or anything licensed so this brand fits the bill for me.  You know what else fits the bill for me? ANYTHING THAT MAKES MY LIFE EASIER.

I found a product called Sinkboss at the ABC show a year ago, they are in manufacturing now and will be shipping to the US in a couple of months.  (Isn’t it fun being in the know?) Sinkboss is a portable, sanitary solution for washing and drying your baby’s kitchenware. It creates a physical barrier between bottles and the nasty stuff.  The hook and strap system even allows you to hang it in the shower to dry! It’s ideal for travel – who likes washing baby’s bottles in a hotel sink? So this puppy will be coming with us on all of our trips this Summer.  Need one? You could be the first to get one once it hits our market, just comment below this post on Facebook and let us know you want to try it.  And check out the video here!

Speaking of making your life easier, you must know about Lilladu Exchange!  They are an online secondhand children’s clothing exchange with an added personal stylist.  They will send you a questionnaire to figure out your little one’s style and then send 15 preloved clothing pieces.  You then send 15 of your own pieces back that no longer fit. (You can also simply chose the Retail option and not send anything back.) Sizes involved in the exchange right now are 18 months to 5T.   You pay $59 for the collection (that’s $4 per piece!) and you’ll not only get a stylist, but the clothing is professionally cleaned, hand inspected, and comes with a bag and printed label to send your own clothes back.  Kids grow fast –  we can simplify our lives and declutter with this service.  They are offering 1 MIM reader a chance to win an exchange package free of charge.  Simply comment below on this Facebook post and let us know if you’d like to try it!

Do you ever make a summer bucket list? It’s really fun to do with kids.  Ours is pretty funny and includes things like “Go back to Jamaica on Big Blue” which {sadly} won’t be happening but other fun things sure are including our upcoming press trip to Smuggler’s Notch in Vermont.  I’m already blown away reading about the various kid-friendly activities we can chose from, stay tuned for more on that front!

I hope you’ll join me on June 21st at 1pm when I co-host a Twitter party with Comcast New England.  We’ll be chatting over coffee about summer travel and what keeps you sane (ahem – the IPAD.) Oh, and we’ll be giving one of those away, too – along with other fabulous Summer goodies – so mark your calendars. #XfinityMoms

Hey, June…act like ya been there, would ya?
