I HAVEN’T USED SHAMPOO OR CONDITIONER IN A MONTH AND HERE’S WHAT HAPPENED.

I saw a picture of myself from 2006 recently and all I could think of was “my hair looked so vibrant and healthy back then, what happened?”

I’ve been reading up on shampoos lately and how ultimately terrible they are for your hair. When you wash your hair with shampoo, it takes away excess oil, dirt, and styling products…but it also takes away your hair’s natural protective barrier. So your scalp goes into overdrive trying to get it back. My hair has been a hot mess since from what I thought was from giving birth. I tried a “no poo” shampoo from Deva Curl which I’ve liked but I still had to use a butt load of conditioner after. I’d slather it on to replace some of the moisture that felt stripped away, and then I’d be greasy again because my scalp was been busy protecting itself. Vicious cycle.

And then I found New Wash from Hairstory.

New Wash takes away the gross stuff and leaves the good stuff. And after a couple of “washes” it really works. I haven’t needed conditioner ONCE (I was a conditioner Queen). I have the softest hair since I was a little kid. Day 3 after using New Wash is my favorite – no over production of oil and my hair still looks like shiny and styled (and I NEVER style it.) Apparently it works great on colored hair too. (I don’t know anything about that yet but with these white strands gathering around my forehead I might need to reconsider, hmpf.)

I stopped using shampoo and conditioner completely, and you can too.
