Check out what arrived at the Quinn household last week!
I have to be totally honest, I never thought I would be a trampoline owner. I was nervous it might be too dangerous for young kids. But after chatting with the folks at JumpSport and experiencing their new product for myself, I’ve changed my tune. The VariableBounce Trampoline has a spring configuration designed to increase safety and reduce the risk of injury. You can tell it is made out of high-quality, durable materials which I like not only because of the safety factor but because it’s not an eyesore in our backyard. Another reason I love this new addition to the household? When my kids woke up on Saturday morning instead of begging “Mommy can we watch a show and have a snack?” they enthusiastically asked “Mommy, can we go bounce!?” We all know well-exercised kids in turn equal kids that sleep well, too. I’m happy to report that my kids have slept like rocks since this thing came into our lives. For safety, I only allow a maximum of 4 at a time and even though Jumpsport provided me with an infographic of ideas for games and exercises (I’ve included that for you, below!) we came up with our own to suite my slightly younger crowd –
“Pop The Popcorn” – Have your kids curl their bodies into balls then jump next to them until they “pop” open. (Warning: 5 year olds are slightly more stubborn poppers. But hey, a little extra calorie burner for you, right?)
“Tag” – You be it or designate a child to be it. The rest of the kids run around in a circle until they are caught. The poles can be base.
“Broadway Shows” – My niece and nephew joined the fun this weekend. They put on variety shows with each other and my favorite was called “The Mighty Mosquito.” My daughter would “bite” her cousins. The cousins would fall down and be itchy. My daughter had to jump over them to cure the itch. My son got to be the butterfly that “flew” down to rescue all of them. (Tony Awards, watch out.) Stay tuned for a trampoline giveaway this Fall on the blog!
