“Rhode Island…neither a Road, nor Island….discuss.” – Linda Richman/Coffee Talk on Saturday Night Live
I was thrilled when asked to join the Visit Rhode Island tour of some of the hottest destinations for kids in the Ocean State. Here were some of the highlights of the trip…
The Biomes Marine Biology Center was a little gem in a lesser known section of the state. This is a must-do with kids. Decker loved “petting” the turtles and sticking his hand in any part of water he could… while Paigely found the seahorses and Mermaid purses a delight.
Here she is ringing a real Nantucket buoy bell!
Thankful that my Dad was “on hand” to grab the horseshoe crabs so I didn’t have to… #wuss
Next stop was the Roger Williams Park Zoo. I have high standards when it comes to Zoos and this one definitely impressed. Did you know it was one of the oldest in the country?
We were in awe over the Elephants and Giraffes….
And we LOVED the farm animal area. The kids got to sit on a tractor and take care of baby goats by brushing and feeding them while hanging out in their pens!
After the zoo our group toured the Pawtucket Red Sox stadium, enjoyed a game, and stayed for fireworks. All in all we had a blast! Thanks for having us #RISpringBreak
Insider tip: Make sure to put the beautiful town of Newport on your list the next time you visit the Ocean State, and say hi to our friends at Lemon & Line!
