What a month. What. A. Month. We said goodbye to summer, sent our 5 year old to Kindergarten, and celebrated 9 years of marriage. It seems like this month went by in a whirlwind of packed lunches and car shuttling. In between the chaos we
hiked walked leisurely in the woods, snuck in a trip to Vermont, and drank pumpkin spice lattes like they were going out of style next month (Oh, wait.) We fully embrace the season of Fall in this neck of the woods and it’s definitely my favorite season. I don’t even mind switching to warmer clothes. I helped plan and hosted an event this month on the U.S.S. Salem which was super fun plus I got to break out my Fall boots for the first time. I noticed half way through the night (after tripping down the ramp to the bathroom) that this is my 3rd Fall with these boots – no pun intended- and I should probably have them re-soled. But here I am giving zero F’s about the aforementioned shoe or trip. Carry on.
I found a new clothing line for kids that’s perfect for Fall. Three Bags Full just landed in the US from New Zealand via Amazon. Have you ever felt 100% pure New Zealand Merino Wool? I hadn’t before putting Decker in this line but I’m pretty sure I never put him down the entire time he wore it (except to nab this picture at
Target my second home.)
Holy sheep this stuff is soft. The best part thing about Merino Wool is that it acts as a temperature gauge which means these clothes will ensure our kids are neither too warm or too cold. I was a little worried about washing it because aint no body got time for hand washing clothes but these items are all easy-care machine washable and fast drying. Shop the THREE BAGS FULL line, here.
Miss P. is in full swing at school and meeting a lot of new friends. A local mom sent me these adorable hair ties that I have to tell you about. I’m a sucker for good smells, especially scents that take me back to my childhood. Can you think of another three sentences that make zero sense together? But listen – these hair ties are scented and she’s been giving them out to her new friends at school. (See? I pulled it all together there.) She chooses every morning from scents like Bubble Gum, Cotton Candy, and Strawberry and every time I kiss her goodbye I want to take a bite of her hair. I’d also like to personally thank Scent-Ties for effectively ending all hair debates. I can finally see her eyes without parting a mountain of curls. Stretch ’em, sniff ’em, wear ’em, share ’em. Check them out, here and look for them at The Paper Store!
Packing school lunches can seem like a full time job. I’m loving the option of being able to buy lunch in Kindergarten but sometimes I wonder if she’s living off of chocolate milk and nursing home-style peaches in sugar water. Check out these great little bags I found by Crispy Green that are perfect to tuck in her backpack for snack time or for after school. After-school activities are also in full swing which means for us soccer, gymnastics, dance, and indoor swim lessons.
(Psst my go-to swim lesson location is a national franchise called Goldfish Swim School. You must check these programs out because well 2 words: HEATED. POOL.) Both kids are loving their Giggle Goggles by Daph Daph for swim lessons because they not only look fun, they don’t pull on their hair or hurt the bridge of their noses. I’m loving them because they can be put on without help! Wait your kids wear your husbands Tough Mudder medal to swim practice too, right?
And finally, a look ahead…
I was asked to be on the panel for “What’s In Store?” next month. (More on that next month) I’ll be attending the ABC Baby Product Show in Las Vegas. (If you are a brand and haven’t booked an appointment yet hurry hurry I’m only there for 2 days.) Annnnnd, I’m up for “Best Social Media Mom in Beantown” which is an award bestowed by Mommy Poppins. I’m honored and would love your vote, here. (If I win I will treat you all to virtual glasses of wine and air kisses. And if I lose we will still be best friends.) Until the end of RockTober my friends, keep it Misadventury.
