…until the kids stop school next week – ha – just kidding. We have a lot going on! In the main photo Paigely had just picked up a tiny newly hatched frog outside a pond near our house. There were 100’s of them! It’s finally HOT and we’re spending a ton of time outdoors and at the beach. I’m still a huge fan of Thinkbaby sunscreen for bodies and Dermal Youth for faces. What are you using on kids that you like? I’m always interested in learning about more great brands in this department. I try not to get too crazy about chemicals but I’m pretty crazy about chemicals. I think that sunscreen and soaps is one area where it’s easy to avoid them so why not?
I switched to Beautycounter’s Super Duper Clean Kids Body Wash (it’s even gluten and nut free!) and we all love the light Berry scent. What do you use on your kids?
I’m crazy about ticks in the summer and that is one department where I am all about whatever works to keep them away because I feel a little bit of chemicals in 1 season is better than a lifetime of Lyme Disease. Send me your favorite bug sprays please! I have a natural homemade one that I like but I’m not confident it does the trick when we are hiking in the woods so we just use it around the house. For the deep woods jaunts we are using a picaridin spray made by Sawyer that I found on the Consumer Reports website. We are also getting our yard sprayed but more about that soon! Speaking of our yard, Maja Bacon transformed it into an outdoor oasis. (We just added an outdoor TV that has been a ton of fun. Definitely go with the SunBriteTV brand if you are looking into one!) Maja also just transformed her own business – The Room Co.– and you should definitely check out her new site. She is really affordable, easy to work with, and you can even do it all online if you want. Tell that sweet soul hello for me.
Are you guys doing any fun projects or activities over the summer? The kids have been loving playing with Bunch O Balloons in the backyard but I have to admit I’m not loving picking them all up. Bose just came out with some really cool headphones the kids actually put together on their own while exploring the world of sound, check them out here.
we’re saving that project for a rainy summer day. We’ll be taking some fun trips and excursions in the coming months like visiting the Stone Zoo, attending a Red Sox game, partying at The Greenway Carousal, and finding out what a Real Oyster Cult float is. Stay tuned and Happy Summering!
