Jumping over waves with those big belly laughs. It was 16 rounds of Don’t Break The Ice. It was hourly sunscreen applications (because did we get all the parts?) It was coloring books and coloring rocks. It was dipping our toes in a Koi pond and begging you to be careful. It was tying chicken fingers to the end of a rope to entice the crabs under the bridge. It was exploring, chatting, naming, singing and dancing. It was searching for shells and finding a message in a bottle. It was getting down on your level and looking you in the eye. It was cuddling a little longer before bed. It was you breaking out of your comfort zones. It was us leaving our phones home on purpose. It was practicing patience and reminding ourselves to slow down (because where did we need to be?)
It was building memories we will never forget.
