TALES ON A RUN

0 Permalink

I recently posted this amazingly awesome bumper sticker on my social media pages to much applause so I’m guessing a lot of you feel the same way:$_35

I used to run before kids, but now I feel all out of¬†sorts with creaky child bearing hips, saggy boobs nursed two times over, mismatched swollen feet, and a left-over baby belly pouch. ¬†(That’s so hot, right?)¬† I do know running will help me tone up the jelly and I do love the way I feel after I go for a run so¬†lately I’ve been trying to strike up my old relationship with it.¬† Now it took me awhile, but I finally found the perfect running conditions and here they are in no particular order:

1. Slightly raining

2. Glass (or two) of wine in me

3.  Old school rap blaring

4.  Going where nobody can see you

The rain makes me feel like I’m running away from something, which helps me go faster.¬†The wine and¬†music¬†make me smile thus taking my mind off the fact that I’m doing something that makes me hurt.¬† Going¬†where nobody can see you is¬†impossible in the city so I just pretend I’m alone. ¬†Running in the rain,¬†slightly¬†buzzed, shouting OH BABY YOU! YOU GOT WHAT I NEEEED¬†with a shit-eating grin on my face¬†often¬†welcomes many a honk. ¬†Another benefit of the wine is that you just don’t care.

So if you are like me and hate to run now that your body has been through hell and back, try the above combination and see if it makes a difference. ¬†If it doesn’t, invest in that bumper sticker and wear it with pride. ¬†Happy Trails,
