Remember that time I took my husband to meet the New Kids On The Block and he totally blended in? Like seriously who brought the 6th New Kid. Let’s recap the night in pictures, shall we? Starting with the best one…
That’s me in the middle posing with Danny, Joey, “Sammy”, Jordan, Jonathan, Donnie, and two lovely contest winners. I really wanted to tell Donnie that his wife Jenny McCarthy inspired my blog with her two books but I chickened out. Bauuuuck.
Cottonelle gave us the royal treatment with a black car service to and from the concert. The driver was a rock star and asked me what kind of music I wanted to listen to. I told him anything but Disney would be a real treat.
Backstage, Hubby was the only male. Not like oh ha ha he’s one of three males. He was THE only male besides the band plus 25 or so adoring female fans. The Cottonelle PR rep, Myreete (my new best friend) and I were having a field day with this, naturally.
Before going to our seats we ran to the bathrooms (which was a real challenge for Hubs because they turned 99% of the mens rooms into women’s rooms, given the crowd.) –
Cottonelle took over the bathrooms to ensure attendees were commando-ready. Apparently the supplies were a big hit because they were gone already in this one…
The opening acts – Nelly & TLC – totally brought us back to middle school. We had a blast dancing and belting out old school songs like – Country Grammar, Ride Wit Me, Hot in Herre, No Scrubs, Aint To Proud To Beg, and our personal favorite -Unpretty. Hubby was shaping up to be the best “plus one” ever at a chick’s concert.
He really wanted to get a shirt (yes, really) so during the break we went out to see what they offered. When he asked for the one he wanted the nice man behind the counter said gently: “I’m sorry Sir, that’s a women’s shirt. I don’t think even the Large would fit you.” Thanks for the supplies Cottonelle because this chick just peed herself.
When NKOTB came on the intensity on Hubby’s face grew. They shouted from the stage: “We started in Cali…headed over to Chicago…etc. etc. etc…..and landed in the greatest city in the entire country!” The place went crazy. And then it hit me – OH. Hubby’s from Boston. NKOTB is from Boston. Nowwww it all makes sense. (Not really.)
Thanks to Cottonelle for having us. You’ve got a fan in me.
