That’s kind of a boring title, isn’t it? Sorry all of my creativeness was spent on October 31st. (Uh, Kristin, you BOUGHT all of the Halloween costumes.) If you want to know how I feel about Halloween (you do) check out this post from last year. Not much has changed. Although I do love watching the kids run from house to house and use their manners to get candy. I know I’ll miss that when they turn too cool to do it anymore. But now, ON TO NOVEMBER! A month of facial hair, shopping, and eating. Here’s what I’m loving these (shorter) days and think you will, too…
Behold! The new fidget spinner? The Mermaid Bracelets are addicting. I bought both of my kids one but you’ll find me using it more than they do. It’s so relaxing in a meditative sort of way. They make a pillow too if anyone’s looking to buy me something for Christmas.
I follow a bunch of baby clothing companies on Instagram and came across HOT BUNZ, a brand that boasts “fresh, organic pants for little ones.” My 7 month old is already in size 12 months (sniff) and his legs are super chubby (and delicious) so I was looking for pants that would work for his um “body type.” I love these because there leave no heartbreaking elastic band marks on his tummy or ankles and fit over his (edible) thighs. If you subscribe to the site you’ll get a 10% off promo code.
My favorite style is the “Bee Kind” see here on baby Riggs. You can enter to win a pair in the size of your choice, too. Head over to my Instagram page for details!
While we are on the subject of meaty baby thighs, I love massaging his cute little body before bedtime. It makes him giggle all over. I found an all natural baby massage serum (yup I said it) by Episencial and I don’t mean to brag but it’s kind of taken his nightly massage to the next level. (Good for pregnant bellies, too!) Check it out here, Episencial Babytime! Massage Serum-3.4 oz
My 1st grader now has official homework and I’d just like to say I’ve felt personally victimized by it. Her Math is hard. Luckily she’s doing much better than I am. She keeps her skills fresh by using the SmarTickMethod. It can be played on a desktop or an iPad. It’s short 15 minute sessions where kids can move at their own pace, building self-confidence, avoiding frustration, and developing a positive attitude to math. Maybe I need this.
I already started shopping for Christmas. Mostly on the internet. Mostly after a glass of wine. We spend Christmas morning here then fly down to see my parents in Florida. It’s important to me for us to be home on that morning, mostly because it’s all I ever knew as a kid. We never traveled. But, a LOT of people do (including my sisters so apparently I’m the only with the issue. Middle child). I found an awesome little service called NotifySanta. The service hails from a New England entrepreneur that alleviates children’s fear that Santa won’t be able to locate them if they travel for Christmas. Mappit The Elf alerts Santa of your whereabouts after you tell him where you will be (plus crafts) and then you get a handwritten note back. It’s super cute. Are you going away? I’m happy to send you my example kit. Let me know where you are going under this post on my Facebook page and I’ll choose one winner! And finally…it’s officially BOOTS weather! BOOTS WITH THE FUR. I’m loving my new Kamik Footwear so much I got the Drizzly’s for Paigely. We’re ready for you Winter!
2 products I can’t live without these days: LashBoost from Rodan & Fields (I get a compliment on the length of my eyelashes daily!) & Vital Collagen Proteins (it helps with joint pain and makes your skin glow!)
