THE ROYAL LIFE

0 Permalink

The Royal Sonesta in Cambridge (right next to the Museum of Science) asked if we’d come and stay with them for a night to check out all of the family friendly features they have to offer. The kids were so excited upon hearing they had a pool and we were very excited to hear it was of the salt-water variety. You leave most hotel pools smelling like a chemical bath, am I right? Upon check-in, the hotel sparkles with Holiday cheer. If you are looking to take a Stay-Cation this season, look no further than being treated to #TheRoyalLife at Royal Sonesta!

The rooms are hyper clean (much to my liking) and ours overlooked the ever gorgeous Charles River and a portion of the Boston skyline:

It was super quiet outside AND in (quiet hours are enforced, thank goodness!) They offer 1, 2 and 3 bedroom options so it’s perfect for families with multiple children. My bed was cozy and comfortable, a big plus when it comes to hotel life. The kids got a kick out of the lights that automatically turned on for you when you stepped on the floor at night! They offer 2 full restaurants within the hotel including a coffee bar and much to my husband’s liking – a gorgeously renovated 24 hour fitness center. We didn’t use it, but they also extend complimentary weekday SUV service to Cambridge area attractions and bikes when the weather cooperates. Hours were spent in the pool! In the summer the seasonal deck is open over looking Boston, it must be gorgeous. The pool felt like a hot tub, it was blissful on a cold, snowy night.

We went to bed wet and tired and when we woke up we got right back in before getting ready to see The Big Man. If you are looking for the ultimate Santa meeting – take your kids to Breakfast with Santa at the Royal Sonesta. We all felt like Kings & Queens from start to finish: the entrance, the ballroom, the snow falling, the gorgeous display of food (complete with a kids section to make waffles and hot cocoa), a letter writing section to Santa, holiday tattoos, and cooking decoration – it was all very magical.

Decker had to leave for a hockey game before Santa arrived into the room so the staff arranged for a private meeting with him in the hallway. Does it get any more royal than this?

We ended our trip with a quick jaunt to the Science Museum, right next door. Check out their Little Scientist package which includes hotel reservations for 4, 4 passes to the museum and free milk and cookies.

The Royal Sonesta is 100% family (and pet!) friendly. Hop on down for a taste of #TheRoyalLife soon and say hi to Santa for us! (Riggs told him he wanted a “Toy” for Christmas, hah!)

Kristin and her family were hosted at the Royal Sonesta Cambridge in exchange for a review. Contact them directly for reservations:
